Planners, advisors and investment managers may talk about holistic planning along with how they will help you accomplish your goals and dreams but ultimately they are salespeople focused primarily on selling investment products and insurance. Below is a list of questions to ask your current advisor or any advisor you may consider working with in the future. What designations do you hold? If none, why not? You don’t see the value in these designations?

I hold both the Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Investment Fiduciary Designations. I see a ton of value for both the advisor and the client when an advisor holds one or more designations. I feel it also shows a level of commitment to being in the industry for the long term.

Truly Unbiased LLC was launched in January 2023. The founder and solo advisor of the firm has been in the industry for over 20 years as noted above.

What is the makeup of your team and who will I be dealing with and for what specific items/areas?

Truly Unbiased LLC was created and designed to give clients an effective, thorough and personal relationship. The founder and solo advisor of the firm, Vinee Mehta is who you will be dealing with directly and for all items and areas.

Will you be outsourcing any of the work you are doing for me? What is the markup on that outsourcing in regards to what I am paying and what you are being charged?

When needed, clients will need to reach out to other professionals to complete recommended tasks and goals. With that said, any work performed by Truly Unbiased will be done directly and not outsourced. Truly Unbiased does not collect any sort of revenue share or referral fees from other professionals.

How are you compensated? Fee-only? Commissions only? Fees and Commissions? If you earn commissions, how are they generated? What percent of your commissions earned comes from Insurance Products and Annuities?

Do you offer assistance with implementation of the recommendations?

Yes, assistance with implementation is included in the fees that you are charged. No hidden or additional fees. Please note that paperwork, account opening, trading, etc. will all be executed by the client and not Truly Unbiased.

Do you take custody of, or have access to my assets for any reason including withdrawing management fees?

Absolutely Not. Never.

if you were to provide me on-going investment advisory services, do you require “discretionary” trading authority over my investment account?

No, we do not take discretion on any client accounts.

Lastly....The fiduciary oath

Any advisor you work with should have no problem adding this to their client agreement with you...Truly Unbiased incorporates this into its client agreement.

The advisor shall exercise his/her best efforts to act in good faith and in the best interests of the client at all times. The advisor shall provide written disclosure to the client prior to the engagement of the advisor, and thereafter throughout the term of the engagement, of any conflicts of interest, which will or reasonably may compromise the impartiality or independence of the advisor. The advisor, or any party in which the advisor has a financial interest, does not receive any compensation or other remuneration that is contingent on any client's purchase or sale of a financial product. The advisor does not receive a fee or other compensation from another party based on the referral of a client or the client's business. Following the Fiduciary Oath means I shall:

- Always act in good faith and with candor

- Be proactive in disclosing any conflicts of interest that may impact a client

- Not accept any referral fees or compensation contingent upon the purchase or sale of a financial product
